WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU CANT UNBLOCK MY DRAIN?
Most drainage blockages are caused by one of the following reasons:
- Foreign Objects flushed down the drain. E.g Toys, trade waste, paint, nappies, pads etc.
- Ground sediment causing pipework to break and bend in a way sewage will build up
- Older drainage pipe systems collapsing (typically earthenware)
- Incorrectly installed drainage. E.g, fittings not glued, test plug forgotten and not removed, glued sections not inserted properly etc
All drainage blockages can be repaired. Costs usually relate to what’s “above the drain”. Do we have to get through concrete? Asphalt? Under walls? Through landscaped areas? Is there access for excavators and the list goes on. Also a very important issue is the depth and size of the drain having to be repaired.
In most instances our experienced drainlayers will advise on a fixed cost to provide repairs. In cases where this is not possible the above rates apply.
